Net Zero

What is Net Zero?

Net zero means to achieve a balance between the carbon emitted into the atmosphere, and the carbon removed from it. This balance is called ‘net zero’. To reach net zero, emissions from homes, transport, agriculture, and industries must be reduced. Imagination has a goal of achieving net zero by 2027.

Why net zero is important

If we do not strive for net zero emissions, we will continue to emit more greenhouse gases and emissions than we can physically remove. As more gases become trapped in our atmosphere and the Earth’s temperature rises, the effects of climate change will be accelerated.

Because this is an issue that affects us all, both businesses and consumers are becoming more interested in and drawn to more sustainable products and services, which means that reducing emissions wherever possible is good for business and the planet.
