Infotainment
What is Infotainment?
Infotainment is an amalgamated term of inform/information and entertainment. Essentially, infotainment is where you combine useful information and present this in an entertaining or pleasing way. This term has found a place in the automotive industry and digital infotainment systems, controlled by a touch screen, have replaced the typical radio or CD player found in cars. Infotainment systems offer a range of functions. Some of those include access to radio, Bluetooth connectivity to smart devices and often the capability to access applications such as streaming music services to satnav, directly on the smart device, either via cable or wirelessly.
The infotainment system also provides access to reversing camera display, and for passengers, even TV and screen mirroring.
